Like many of our chosen ingredients, sunflower seed oil is no newcomer. The sunflower has a long history with people. American Indians first domesticated it, in what is now Arizona and New Mexico, around 3000 BC, and its seed oil was applied to the skin and hair.
Beyond its cultural and historical story, organic sunflower seed oil is a light oil that feels smooth on the skin. It is naturally rich in vitamin E and helps the skin hold its moisture, keeping it soft and comfortable for longer.
Its light texture suits every season, summer and winter alike, which makes it a natural member of the Hinoki Moisturizer ingredient club.
The Hinoki Moisturizer blends organic sunflower seed oil with organic ingredients including aloe vera, shea butter, apricot kernel oil and coconut oil, together with pure Japanese Hinoki essential oil — one note, unblended. The formula is 87% organic and balanced at pH 5–6, close to the skin’s natural level.
